Three nursesThis post concludes my series on the handling of Arizona professional licensing cases which involve nurses. I wrote this series due to the fact that few things are as important to someone as their career. Becoming a Registered Nurse requires one to attend school and meet strict requirements. It can be devastating, both personally and financially, to have one’s license suspended or revoked. If you find yourself facing such a situation then it is crucial that you contact a licensing defense lawyer as soon as possible.

I have addressed several topics over my recent articles. Issues I have looked at included:

These are important topics for several reasons. First, and mainly, many do not know what to expect after they have received notice of a disciplinary hearing. This lack of knowledge can lead one to feel that they have no chance of maintaining their professional career and that all hope is lost. Such is not the case. The fact of the matter is that you may have defenses available, especially if your hearing revolves around allegations of criminal activity or drug use. Furthermore, even if you do lose your hearing in the initial stages of the process then it is still possible to file an appeal and possibly have the ruling overturned. I hope that with my last several articles these issues have been made more clear.

It is important that you retain counsel as soon as you receive notice of your disciplinary proceeding. The sooner you retain an attorney then the sooner he or she can begin formulating a defense on your behalf. This will include interviewing any witnesses, taking necessary actions in a criminal proceeding, and obtaining proof of any disabilities which can be asserted. While you may be concerned about the cost of retaining counsel you must understand it is an investment. The amount of money you pay in legal fees is small in comparison to the value of your nursing license.
